Overview:

My research focuses on the measurement and perception of airborne and structure-borne sound and vibration in buildings, with an emphasis on both heavyweight and lightweight construction. Additionally, I have investigated the acoustical characteristics of various rooms (e.g., offices and hospitals). Key focus areas include:

• Measurements of sound and vibration transmission in building elements
• Perceptual studies of neighbour noise in high-rise apartment buildings
• Guideline development building noise control
